VANEL’s Volunteer Managers Network celebrated this year’s National Volunteers Week (1st -7th June) by holding a Volunteer Recruitment Fair in Peoples Park on Friday 2nd June. The event was attended by VANEL Member organisations such as Dementia Awareness, YMCA Humber, and Counting Hope and also served as the launch of VANEL’s latest funding success, ‘The Blue Lights Brigade’.

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed to Lachlan’s fundraising Fun Day which took place last Friday at Grimsby Rugby Club. Despite the bad weather, the event was a success, raising just under £100 for Lachlan’s three chosen charities. We hope to increase this total by continuing our fundraising at VANEL’s World Oceans Day event next week. Read on for full details.

WE Day Social Action Club 2017 is a free event designed to inspire, motivate and support school children and young people as they come up with innovative solutions to social issues that matter to them. Mini WE Day is back for its third consecutive year! This years event ‘Social Action Club’ aims to motivate and empower young people to come up with innovative solutions to social issues, and equip them with the tools they need in order to make a difference. This years Mini WE Day event will take place on Thursday 6th April 2017 at the Grimsby Institute.
