Pipes Away Launch at VANEL’s World Oceans Day
VANEL’s Pipes Away Virtual Reality (VR) Experience is almost here! Join us on Tuesday 30th May 2017 at Cleethorpes Discovery Centre from 10 am – 4m for the launch at our World Oceans Day event!
You may remember that earlier in the year, two-fifths of VANEL’s IGNITE team, Victoria and Chris, applied for up to £10,000 in funding from The Environment Now. The grants programme, supported by O2 Think Big and in partnership with the National Youth Agency, encourages young people to come up with digital solutions to pressing environmental issues. Pipes Away allows users to immerse themselves into their pipes and banish the belligerent blockages commonly found in UK sewers. The experience aims to educate people about the types of things that should and shouldn’t be put down the drain and the reasons why.

World Oceans Day (WOD) is a global day of ocean celebration and collaboration for a better future. The official WOD is celebrated on the 8th June, however, we will be holding our WOD event on Tuesday 30th May 2017 to coincide with half-term.
In addition to the launch of Pipes Away, VANEL’s World Oceans Day event will feature performances from Anglian Water’s Mad Scientists, the return of Explorabubble and a stand by Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary. The team from Beach Safety will be in attendance, as will EFAMs Event Medical and Water Rescue Services.
