It’s #LoveParksWeek (a Keep Britain Tidy campaign). Can you help a park near you?
Across the UK, Keep Britain Tidy is promoting #LoveParksWeek this week. As well as simply getting out and enjoying your local park, why not chip in and help keep it tidy and loved?
So many parks and spaces across North East Lincolnshire already have groups of residents looking after their loved spaces. Why not see what’s going on in a park near you this week?
VANEL have been working closely with East Marsh Involve on their work keeping Grant Thorold Park beautiful, and we’re working in partnership with Big Local North Cleethorpes and the Sidney Park Partnership to improve and support Sidney Park. The Sidney Park Partnership have got something going on literally every day over the summer to get local residents and families involved with the Park, and their Green Influencers group of young people are out in the park every week planting, tidying and litter picking.
We’d like to learn about other groups of residents supporting their parks and open spaces too. We helped kick start Sidney Park Partnership by having local residents start up a “Park Watch” group which evolved into the new and pro-active partnership now supporting the park. Are you part of a group already? Would you like a Park Watch group in your park? Get in touch with us at VANEL – our Neighbourhood Networking programme might be able to help you.
