New CCG and Big Lottery Health funding – the process
I attended the launch briefing this week for the new funding initiative that the NEL CCG is presenting in conjunction with Big Lottery. The formal Press Release from CCG has been sent out (see here), but the timelines for application are extremely tight so I thought it worthwhile to outline some facts and information that’s not included in the Press Release.
Any local charities or voluntary or community organisations that wish to apply for this funding need to be requesting information immediately and getting an Expression of Interest Form submitted before 5th January 2016.
Full information should be sought from Lisa Hilder at NEL CCG lisahilder@nhs.net or from Big Lottery via Rachel Stevens Rachel.stevens@biglotteryfund.org.uk.
The EofI form needs to be completed and returned by 5th January 2016.
One to one interviews will be held with groups that are interested in applying in order to determine whether the NEL CCG or Big Lottery is the right funding stream to approach. Interviews are in Immingham on 6th January 2016 and Grimsby on 7th January. We are assured that these are important interviews but not compulsory.
Full applications forms will be issued on 8th January 2016, along with full guidance we hope.
Applications will then need to be submitted by Monday 29th February 2016.
The NEL CCG will make its assessments and awards during March 2016 and Big Lottery will make its awards during the next financial year.
Your EofI will need to explain what your project will do, what the need is, and, importantly, what evidence you have for the need and your project. So if you have a new idea then you will need to get some information and evidence together very quickly.
All applications must focus on one of the 3 critical health targets:
– COPD
– Diabetes
– Dementia
Funding should be between £20k-£100k and run for between 1 and 3 years.
Hopefully that gives a few more pieces of factual information that will help you if you are able to apply for this funding. I have attached a number of documents circulated at the launch meeting.
Please direct your enquiries to Lisa Hilder at NEL CCG in the first instance.
