New Trustee

Becoming a Trustee (or a member of a committee) is an important role.  If it’s your first time as a Trustee then there are a number of things you need to know about your role and your responsibilities.

Training

VANEL can provide training to introduce you to the fundamentals of being a Trustee.

Find out about our “Introduction to Trusteeship” training session here.

If your organisation is interested in training a few trustees together, then we can offer bespoke versions of this training course.  Contact us to discuss this.

Information

A selection of interesting or useful resources for you to read:

Possibly the most important resources are on the Charity Commission website here: [resources]

Huge amount of useful links and information and guidance here from NCVO. [article]

“What every new charity trustee should know” [article]

Specifics

If you are aged 18-25 then you are in a unique position.  Across the UK, the number of younger people serving as Trustees is very small.  So VANEL is very interested in working out how to change this.

Our enfuse Young Development Workers team is looking at this.  So if you would like to talk about being or becoming a volunteer Trustee then contact us for a chat.
