Earlier in 2019 VANEL delivered a training session in Cleethorpes tackling Cyber Security for charities and community groups. The session highlighted the risks to non-profit organisations (who seldom have a full IT support package and team in place), and went through practical steps to help protect yourselves.
The course we ran was using content from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and had been coordinated as part of a pilot programme through NAVCA. VANEL were one of ten test delivery organisations.
Further training has now been agreed with NAVCA and NCSC and from September VANEL will be scheduling a series of these free training sessions in Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
More info and dates soon, but if you’d like to be added to the waiting list to find out more as soon as dates are announced then please contact Karl Elliott at VANEL (firstname.lastname@example.org, 01472 361043).
We’ll also be offering further support around cyber security to our Members and Friends, to non-profit organisations around North Cleethorpes (in partnership with Big Local North Cleethorpes), and to Neighbourhood Watch Groups (in partnership with Glyn and the Neighbourhood Watch Network). If you’re interested in learning more about cyber security, how to protect yourself, or simply want to talk through a concern you have, then get in touch with Karl.
