VANEL is on the lookout for individuals looking to volunteer who might be interested in a range of local opportunities. Descriptions of the roles are below and if any sound of interest then please get in touch with Liz Dugard at VANEL who will explain more, can check your interests and availability and then can refer you onto the hosting organisation.

Youth Worker – Needed on several nights of the week various locations
Media Support – Are you interested in the media industry, either in journalism, photography or filming.
Kitchen Assistant – Help during the afternoon assisting in preparing of meals and serving
Painter & Decorator – Requires experience in painting and the ability to work on your own
Driver – Must have own car, to take individual passengers on journeys
Residential Care Befriender – To befriend an older person who is in a care home but has no visitors
Social Group Befriender – At various venues across North East Lincs
Grounds Maintenance & Gardening – Work at your own pace, taking pride in a small plot of garden
Dementia Activity Volunteer – To support at variety of sessions Inc. Arts/Crafts/Gardening/Dancing
Dementia Community Volunteer – The ultimate aim of this role is to provide a volunteer service you would be happy for your family to use
Befriender – To befriend older people on a one-to-one basis in their own home
Retail Assistant – Retail shops across, Grimsby, Cleethorpes & Immingham
Admin Assistant – Work is varied, must have good organisational skills
Patient Support – Offering much needed support, from meeting & greeting and making and serving refreshments
Assistant Scout Leaders – Working with young people, at weekly meetings
Appropriate Adult Support – Provides a service to Young People in Police Custody
Youth Offending Panel Member – To sit on a panel that meets with young offenders
Telephone Befriending – Giving a regular call to someone who may be in need of a friendly ear
Regional Support Coordinator – To help raise much needed funds & encourage local support
Fundraiser – Help organise local events to raise funds
Collection Box Coordinator – To place & collect boxes with local organisations
Photographer – Take pictures at local events as when required
Speaker – To promote awareness of charity locally
Writer – Passionate & Creative writers, who can help clients tell their story
Hair Studio Assistant – Assisting in local charity salon
Basic Vehicle maintenance & Cleaner – Carry out weekly vehicle checks
Handy Person – Help with onsite odd jobs
