Welcome onboard. Dan joins the IGNITE staff team at VANEL

The IGNITE team at VANEL has been joined by Dan Paton who started on 1st March. We’ll let Dan introduce himself…

“I am Dan Paton, the new IGNITE Youth Leadership Worker at VANEL. Coming from a scientific background, employment within the voluntary sector isn’t something I always imagined I would be doing post-university. Nevertheless, it is a challenging opportunity that I am really enthusiastic about capitalising on.  I have always been fond of volunteering; I see it as 2-way beneficiary process and hope to inspire the youth into seeking out and engaging with their own individual opportunities.

For me, one of the beauties of the sector is that there truly is something for everyone. Voluntary experiences can develop a range of skills whilst opening doors that could influence your future positively.

My primary interests are within sport, whether it be watching or being involved. More recently I have become interested in literature surrounding personality and self-help.

I am looking forward to the journey, hope to see you along the way!”

Dan is also supporting the Big Local North Cleethorpes part-time as a Youth Development Worker alongside Jasmin Flint. In that role Dan and Jasmin are on the lookout for opportunities to connect younger people into community roles and projects in the North Cleethorpes area.
