Rocking heels for Domestic Abuse in Cleethorpes
“Rocking Heels for Domestic Abuse” is an event conceived by Kaitlan Willis and mentored by Jean-Louis from the IGNITE team. Here Jean-Louis describes the project to raise its profile well in advance of the event.
Cleethorpes woman challenges all comers to walk 1 mile in high heels to raise money for domestic abuse in North East Lincolnshire.
Kaitlan Willis, 20, is calling out for all comers to walk in either high heeled shoes or female shoes to increase the awareness of domestic abuse and raise money for the National Centre for Domestic Violence.
The National Centre for Domestic Violence is a freephone twenty four-hour helpline that runs in partnerships with Women’s Aid and Refuge. The charity offer services for women who are experiencing domestic violence in their families, or by friends or colleagues
The 1-mile walk will be taking place on the Cleethorpes promenade or along the beautiful Cleethorpes beach. The walk will start near the train station and will finish just in front of the Cleethorpes leisure centre.
The date of the event is yet to be confirmed but is likely to be in June 2018.
Kaitlan is setting up a Just Giving page where you can donate to the cause and a Facebook event page, where you can ask her any questions you may have, and see any further details about the event.
Kaitlan is hoping to raise just under £1000 for the National Centre for Domestic Violence
If you have any more questions, Kaitlan will is willing to answer all your questions through email.
So keep an eye out for our future announcement of details and get ready to come along and walk, jog or run a mile for domestic abuse.
