Second Chance at Gaining A Place at Next Year’s London Marathon Through YMCA Humber
YMCA Humber is calling on runners to put their best foot forward for local young people in next year’s London Marathon.
Local runners who have missed out on a place in next year’s Virgin Money London Marathon are being encouraged to sign-up for a place with one of the region’s oldest youth charities. Race organisers recently informed runners if they had been successful in gaining a ballot place for the famous event set for Sunday 24 April 2017. If you have missed out on a place and are looking for a way to enter the race: YMCA Humber says it has the solution for you. The charity has limited places available in the 2017 event and is encouraging local runners to get in touch to book their place and pledge their support to the youth charity in the process.
YMCA Humber has been operating in the Humber Region since 1882. Its services span across North East Lincolnshire and every year over 300 young people pass through the doors of its services and projects. Money raised by marathon runners will be spent on ensuring those services continue to run for young people in the months and years to come. There is a £100 registration fee for the race, which is paid up-front but does form part of your final sponsorship total
The sponsorship target is £2,000, (subtracting £100 for registration, this leaves £1,900 minimum to be split between YMCA Humber and YMCA England for fundraising; £1,600 to be raised before raceday, please contact the team for support with this).
You receive:
- A YMCA branded training vest
- Fundraising pack
- Further fundraising materials
- A dedicated YMCA JustGiving page for online fundraising
- Telephony and email support, as well as face-to-face support from your local YMCA
