East Marsh households can now request free household or personal safety equipment
As part of the Safer Streets East Marsh programme, VANEL is managing a project to provide households in East Marsh with free items of personal or household safety equipment.
Known as the “East Marsh Cache”, small items such as personal alarms; timer switches; door handle alarms and more can be requested via VANEL and can be provided for free.
Because this is a Safer Streets programme we are focusing our deliveries within the target area designated by Safer Streets, BUT at the moment anyone anywhere in East Marsh can make a request. We have to prioritise our deliveries but we want to make sure people are putting in requests.
There’s more info about the “cache” project here.
There’s an online catalogue of items here.
And an online order form here – either for yourself or to make a referral.
People can request a few items, but we need to make sure as many people as possible benefit with our limited resources and we reserve the right to limit what people receive.
We do hope these “freebies” help provide some peace of mind to East Marsh resident and give each household a little bit more in the way of security measures.
If your household is within the Safer Streets East Marsh target area (see here) the you are also entitled to a much more comprehensive home security review and to receive even more useful security equipment. This part of the programme is delivered by Empower and you can find out more or book an appointment on their website here.
