A busy weekend for the IGNITE team
Over the last weekend of September the IGNITE team were a bit busy doing their bit towards fundraising, awareness raising and the environment. It was Macmillan coffee morning time as well as time for a River cleanup. Everyone got very involved, the weather was kind for the outdoor activities and over £150 was raised for Macmillan at the two coffee and cake events. Thanks to everyone who came along and got involved.
On Friday 28th IGNITE were running a Macmillan coffee morning at the United Reformed Church in Grimsby. A great turnout and over £80 was raised.
A second coffee and cake event too place on Saturday 29th straight after the RiverClean event on the Freshney. This cake event also raised around £80 for Macmillan. The River Clean event itself was another great volunteering get together. Many people turned out, Blue Lights Brigade volunteers and the IGNITE team included. As usual the river Freshney looked a whole lot better at the end of the morning than it did at the start.
Finally, on Sunday, the team were out at Weelsby Woods supporting Shaun as he launched is Longstrip Wildlife mobile app to help get people involved in the environment. The day included a range of out and about type activities and great fun was had by all.
Thanks to everyone who got involved on the days.
