Latest News About VANEL’s Community Health Champions
Over the last two year’s VANEL’s Community Health Champions (CHC) project has engaged with and delivered messages about health and well-being to over a thousand people at various locations across North East Lincolnshire.
In September 2016 Vickie Ehret joined CHC as the Programme Co-ordinator. Since her arrival, Vickie has recruited a number of volunteers, had them enrol on various health related training courses, and advertised the programme to local schools, businesses and GP practises.

It is fair to say that the CHC stall has visited some great places and engaged with some fantastic people. Over the last few months, CHC has visited a number of exciting new locations including King’s Baptise Church, Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, Parkway Cinema, Waltham Brownies group, Morrisons Supermarket, Freeman St Market and a walking football club.

The most popular information which people have been interested in taking has been Healthy eating, stopping smoking, Diabetes, Cancer and information on lowering Cholesterol.
We are disappointed to announce that the CHC project has been unable to secure funding to continue the work of the project and will finish at the end of the March.
The Community Health Champions project has relied on volunteers to promote messages about health and wellbeing. As such, Project Coordinator, Vickie Ehret, would like to say a big thank you to all CHC volunteers. The project would not have been the success it was without them.
Once again Vickie and VANEL, would like to thank the volunteers, members of the public, staff and partners that have supported the CHC project since its inception.
