Find Out How You Can Support Seafarer’s Visiting Our Shores!
The Mission to Seafarer’s are looking to recruit volunteers aged 18 or over, to help them carry out their vital work with Seafarers from all parts of the world, who visit Immingham Docks.
The charity works to support Seafarer’s and their families, irrespective of their faith or cultural background, by providing practical help, support and friendship. As such, volunteers must have the ability to listen and be empathic, and be able to relate to a range of nationalities and cultures. Volunteers will work alongside their port chaplain, and other volunteers in various roles including ship visitors, fundraisers, and Parish links.
Flexible long or short term volunteering opportunities are available. Taster sessions are available for you to see if this volunteering scheme is right for you.
Due to the nature of the volunteering opportunities that are available, you must have a driving licence and have access to a vehicle. Where relevant a DBS Check will be undertaken. References will be required & successful applicants will undertake a trial period.
