VANEL participates in critical incident response meeting in Manchester

The Critical Incident Response Forum’s inaugural meeting was hosted in Manchester yesterday, attended by VANEL Chief Officer Paula Grant. The forum was held to give NAVCA members an opportunity to share and reflect upon the contributions they and their members have made to local major incidents. The learning will be shared with the Charity Commission’s national working group on community resilience to inform them of practical experience and actions taken by voluntary groups and volunteers.

We were able to share our evolving work on coordinating volunteers to support major incidents via our Blue Lights Brigade programme; participating in mock major event exercises with the British Red Cross and how we will be supporting our member groups to prepare for, respond and cope with local disasters.
