The Coastal Communities Fund is now open for Round 5 applications
CoastNEL plan to submit a new funding application for projects in Grimsby and Immingham and would like to invite the community of North East Lincolnshire to register their projects, by 5th April for consideration as part of this application.
CoastNEL are inviting organisations to register their project ideas for two focused areas in North East Lincolnshire that align to the following themes.
1. Immingham Projects
North East Lincolnshire is one of 11 core destinations in England who are part of the Mayflower 400 programme commemorating the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower from Plymouth UK to Plymouth Massachusetts. Immingham is linked to these events by the Separatist congregation who fled England through Immingham to Holland and then some twelve years later, joined the Mayflower to America.
The main Pilgrim Father celebrations will take place in 2020 but we expect there to be events and activities each year leading up to the 2020 celebrations and project ideas that will attract more visitors to experience the Pilgrim Father celebrations are invited to complete an expression of interest in the CCF funding process.
1. Grimsby Projects
Grimsby has a maritime heritage of national and international significance with many stories to be told about its Danish roots and renowned fishing heritage. The Greater Grimsby Town Deal was announced by Government in 2016 and is the first of its kind in the UK bringing an unprecedented economic regeneration opportunity which will focus on heritage, education and new employment opportunities. The CCF funding offers the town an opportunity to progress economic regeneration projects that will complement the revival of our town centre.
CoastNEL would like to invite expressions of interest for projects that will focus on ensuring that our town centre is bouyant, economically sustainable and an attractive place to live, work, visit and invest.
