HealthWin bulletin for 12th August
Applications for funding from The People’s Heath Trust ‘Active Communities’ annual “HealthWin” Programme are being accepted in less than two weeks. Starting on the 24th August 2016, organisations’ and groups from around North East Lincolnshire are being invited to put forward ideas about how to improve the physical, social and mental health of their community. From this date they can apply for “HealthWin” funding to turn their idea into a reality.
“HealthWin”, is our regional version of a national programme which aims to strengthen community ties and improve areas by providing funding for projects designed and run by local people. 51 Community Interest Companies are raising money to address health inequalities across England, Scotland and Wales through The Health Lottery, and in the East Riding, Hull, North and North East Lincolnshire HealthAble is the CIC with VANEL providing support to applicants in North East Lincolnshire.
Constituted organisations’ which have been established for three months or longer and are situated within North East Lincolnshire, are invited to start brainstorming project ideas which could benefit their community. Maybe you want to set up a local youth centre, or fund a community-based art or music project where people can come together and be creative. The possibilities are endless. Communities of interest are also invited to get involved and think of ideas. Communities of interest are classed as groups of people who have things in common and who wish to come together to create or improve something within their community.
Organisations’ and communities of interest can apply for between £5,000 and £25,000 for up to two years. The spectrum for funding is vast, so if you have an idea for a project which will benefit your community, come along and talk to VANEL. We can help you articulate your ideas and guide you through stage one of the two stage application process. Our Community Development Intern Chris Luckman will be working closely to support “HealthWin” applicants’ in this way. “HealthWin” are accepting funding applications from Wednesday 24th August until Wednesday 21st September 2016, so there is still plenty of time to think of an idea if you haven’t already. These dates are for the first of the two-stage application process only.
If you are a member of an organisation or a community of interest from within North East Lincolnshire, and would like to find out more about “HealthWin” and how to get involved, join us at our VANEL office on Tuesday 23rd August 2016 at 12 noon until 1:30pm. We can explain how stage one of the application process works, discuss the kind of projects that have received funding in the past, and talk about your ideas. We will also be holding one-on-one appointment’s on Wednesday the 7th September 2016 for applicants who haven’t already submitted their funding application by this date, but wish to receive additional support.
