CERT are holding a free taster day on Tuesday 6th September 2016 for learners aged 19 or over from the Humber region and who are not in paid work for more than eight hours per week. This fun and interactive taster day will give individuals’ an opportunity to meet new people and socialise. The taster day promises to be relaxed and informal with interactive and exciting activities allowing individuals to explore other training opportunities. The workshop is fully funded and free to attend. Taster day attendees will have the opportunity to attend a five-week ICT Fundamentals course and/or a two day Personal Learning Skills course. The ICT Fundamentals course starts on September 13th and will run on a Tuesday and Wednesday for five weeks. Learners will receive five certificates for attending the course and will explore the following:
- Improving Internet searching skills
- Saving money online and exploring the main features of the Internet.
- Exploring the features of e-mailing.
- Exploring the features of Microsoft Word, Excel and File Management.
The Personal Learning Skills course runs for two days a week and is designed to enable individuals to improve and understand learning styles and identify different ways of gaining knowledge. This course is fun and relaxed and allows learners to engage and interact with one another using activities and case studies. Upon completion of this course, learners will receive a certificate. This course is funded and free to attend.
Learners who wish to attend either course must first attend the taster day on Tuesday 6th September to complete registration paperwork. Courses will be held at the Hub, Freeman Street, Grimsby.
