Breathing new life into a Cleethorpes Beach Chalet

A tired and disused beach hut in Cleethorpes is being converted into a community space for disadvantaged people thanks to a £1500 grant from the Tribune Trust.  The hut is being renovated by Capacity Buildings Ltd in partnership with others locally interested in community safety, and supported by the Tribune Trust grant.   The beach hut, behind Meridian Showground, will be equipped with cooker and play equipment for children and will provide a space for families suffering from violent and antisocial behaviour in their area a chance of some peace and respite.  Graduates working with Capacity Buildings identified the hut and came up with the idea of the renovation and the High Sheriff of Lincolnshire recently presented the grant cheque from the Tribune Trust to the team after their successful application.  When completed later in the summer, residents from East and West Marsh will be able to take advantage of the respite it provides.  More information can be obtained from Capacity Buildings via info@capacitybuildings.org.uk and an article about the hut and the presentation are on the Grimsby Telegraph here
