Winter Wonderland
VANEL staff were at Cleethorpes’ Winter Wonderland for the four day event last weekend (10th – 13th December). If you were there you may have noticed us manning Anglian Water’s Keep it Clear campaign stall. It was a cold winter weekend but the atmosphere of the place warmed everyone right up.
We were handing out plenty of freebies to do with Anglian Water including gunk pots, fat traps, sink strainers, fridge magnets, car air fresheners and pencil crayons for children. Admittedly, they aren’t the most flattering of Christmas freebies but they’re unspoken necessities when it comes to keeping our areas drains clear, functional and efficient.
Our Winter Planning resources also got circulated; leaflets both for volunteers and for those who might require use of the service. On cold weekends the Winter Planning message is as relevant as it can be, not everyone is as ready and able as they’d like to be during extreme weather conditions, so we must look out for one-another.
This first Winter Wonderland event seemed to us – as stallholders – to be a great success, and we’ll be revisiting it in our January e-newsletter to cover it in more detail.
