Christmas Events and Activities

With Christmas looming ever nearer on the horizon, here are some of the things that are going on locally in the lead up to the festive season:

  • Not Home Alone at Christmas are looking for a choir, poster distributors and also minibus drivers. You can find out more about them and their opportunities on facebook
  • West Marsh Community Centre are holding their Christmas Spectacular on Friday 4th December, from 4.30-7pm, and Saturday 5th December, from 1-4pm.
  • Grimsby Philharmonic Society are performing Handel’s Messiah on 12th December at Grimsby Minster
  • St Mary’s Catholic Church are holding their Carols by Candlelight service on 16th December
  • Grimsby Minster have the Les Springall Band making an appearance on 5th December
  • Care4All are part of a new group that have taken on Grant Thorold Library. The official opening is on 8th December, but if you would like to attend please RSVP by 4th December.
  • Linkage are offering a gift wrapping service in Freshney Place Shopping Centre.
  • Green Futures are taking orders for their Christmas Vegetable Box. The box costs £27 and needs to be delivered/ collected on 21st or 22nd December. Please note that the deadline for orders is 11th December.
  • 10th-13th December sees the Winter Wonderland arrive at Meridian Park, Cleethorpes. You can find out more about what is happening and opening times on Winter Wonderland website. The organisers are looking for volunteers to help support the event, if you would like to volunteer please email volunteer@vanel.org.uk
  • CARE are running their Toys for Joy scheme again this year. If you work for an organisation supporting families you can contact CARE to refer the parent to the scheme.
