Urgent appeal for re-usable beds and other furniture

CARE is a local charity that as part of our mission to try to relieve poverty, hardship and distress in North East Lincolnshire, particularly working with homeless families and individuals, receive applications for the free donation by ourselves of furniture and household items that will enable people, who are on benefits and do not have the wherewithal to buy these items themselves, to be able to have such basic items as: beds, sofas and chairs, wardrobes, chest of drawers and table and chairs.

Currently, we have a long waiting list and urgently require:

• 9 sofas (or suites)
• 12 beds (single and double)
• 14 chests of drawers
• 9 Wardrobes
• 5 kitchen/dining tables and chairs,

Just to meet our current urgent demand.

That explains the reason for this appeal. If you, or anyone that you know of in your work, family or social circles is replacing any of these items, and the old item is in a good, reusable condition (not one bound for the tip) and where applicable retains its fire safety label, we would be delighted to be given the opportunity to put it to good use and at the same time help someone in need. We would be able to arrange to collect the item(s) from you.
