“Tea and Trustees” on 27th March
Tea and Trustees 27th March
Our next “Tea and Trustees” meeting will be on the morning of Friday 27th March at Grimsby Minster café. We’re meeting every last Friday of the month, and if you are a charity Trustee or a committee or board member (or soon to become one) then this is an opportunity to come along, meet very informally over a drink and to talk over anything related to your role as a Trustee.
Drop in anytime between 9.30am and 12noon and there will be VANEL staff members and Trustees there and others to talk with. It’s free to attend, but you’ll need to buy your own drinks/cakes from the Minster café.
Come with questions. Come with ideas. Come with problems. Come share some positives. Come to discuss with others. By talking with other Trustees outside of your normal circles we hope ideas and support can spread.
This month, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation has published an in-depth report which says that cuts to local authority budgets have had a profound effect on the services that people receive. The report talks about impacts on communities as well as impacts on the voluntary sector. This is an important piece of research that we all, especially those of us involved in the leadership and governance of voluntary and community organisations, should be reading. You can read about the report and download the summary and full report on the JRF website here. We thought that this might be a good discussion topic for this months “Tea and Trustees” so if anyone would like to discuss at the meeting that would be welcome.
