Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service
The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise the outstanding work carried out in their own communities. Any group doing volunteer work that provides a social, economic or environmental service to the local community can be nominated for the award. The winners are announced on 2nd June every year. Nominations are open until 15 September.

Friendship at Home Quiz Night
Friendship at Home (FAH) is holding a charity quiz night on Friday 1st September at The Old Clee Club from 8 pm onwards. Tickets are £6 pp and include fish, chips and peas. Book your tickets by contacting the FAH office 01472 602500.
YMCA: Youth Club Disco
YMCA Humber’s Immingham Youth Club last session before the summer will take place on Monday 31st July at the Bert Boyden Centre in the form of a disco. The disco will run 6 pm – 8 pm and children aged 6 to 16 are welcome to attend. There will be food, music, sumo suits and giant bubbles. Entry is £1.50 per person.
Total Transport One Stop Shop development

The aim is to establish a single information point in respect of different agencies’ passenger transport offerings, with a view to more effective signposting and publicity – a Transport One Stop Shop to deal with user needs and requests for services locally within North East Lincolnshire.

Upcoming Funding Surgeries Next Week
VANEL are holding a variety of surgeries next week on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th July. Book a place at one of our four funding surgeries and find out more about funding opportunities from the Humber Youth Association, the Crime Reduction Fund and the Tribune Trust. The VANEL Executive: A Celebration of the last year
Last week VANEL celebrated the hard work and dedication of VANEL staff and volunteers at our Executive Meeting. The meetings are lead by VANEL’s board of trustees and are an opportunity for the trustees to scrutinise and discuss the day to day running of the organisation. Last week’s meeting took place at West Marsh Community Centre and presented the IGNITE team with an opportunity to present the work they have been doing with young people over the last 12 months.
Yoga In The Garden
