New fund launched to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour
A new £84,000 fund has been launched to help voluntary and community groups in North East Lincolnshire tackle problems ranging from anti-social behaviour to domestic abuse. The North East Lincolnshire Community Safety Partnership (CSP) Crime Reduction Fund opens for applications on Monday 3 July 2017.
The new scheme has been funded by the Police and Crime Commissioner for Humberside (PCC) and is being managed by Voluntary Action North East Lincolnshire (VANEL) on behalf of the North East Lincolnshire CSP. Read on for the full press release, details of the fund and how to find out more.
Bygone BeachCombers Appeal For Cleethorpes Memorabilia
North East Lincolnshire Council’s Safer and Stronger Communities team are creating a place where people can learn about the history of Cleethorpes over the last three centuries both online and in person through their Heritage Lottery funded Bygone Beachcomber Project. The team are working to create a display within the beach hut where visitors can view photographs, posters, souvenirs and memorabilia relating to Cleethorpes which they otherwise might not have had the opportunity to see. IGNITE At NEL’s Largest Skills Fair
VANEL’s IGNITE team will be holding a stand at North East Lincolnshire’s largest Skills Fair at Grimsby Auditorium on Thursday 6th July. The team will be promoting volunteering and explaining to the young people the fair is aimed at how they can use becoming a volunteer to their advantage.

VANEL Funding Surgeries Taking Place in July
VANEL is holding a variety of funding surgeries on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th July. Paul Chessman, the Director at the Tribune Trust, and experienced Funding Officer, Gary Allen, will be taking appointments from groups wanting to discuss funding. VANEL’s Finance Officer Richard Wendel-Jones will also be taking appointments from individuals and groups interested in applying for funding from the Humber Youth Association and the Crime Reduction Fund. YMCA Humber Youth Club is Relocating to Jade’s Dance Studio
YMCA Humber’s Big Local funded Youth Club is moving from The Pavilion on Sussex Recreation Ground to Jade’s Dance Studio on Grant Street. The Youth Club will run every Friday between the hours of 4 pm and 6 pm starting from Friday 30th June. Read on for full details.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Local Offer Consultation
NELC is conducting a consultation to find out about people’s level of awareness of North East Lincolnshire’s Local Offer – not the individual services that make up the offer. This consultation is open to parents, carers and organisations working with children and young people who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, and closes on Thursday 13th July.
HealthWatch AGM
On Friday 16th June, HealthWatch NEL held their fourth Annual General Meeting at Grimsby Central Hall. The meeting was open to members of the public and included stalls from organisations providing a range of different services to people across North East Lincolnshire. Charity Race Night This September
Counting Hope is holding a charity Race Night on Friday 15th September at Holton-Le-Clay Cricket Club. Entry to the event is £6 including food and all profit will be divided equally between Counting Hope and the Elite Marching Band. Read on for details.
Places Still Available On AIS/COMMUNITY GRANTS COURSE
Places are still available on the AIS/Community Grants course aimed at young people between 18 and 30 who are unemployed. The course aims to help young people find out about local employment opportunities and can provide them with taster sessions in the renewables sector. ESF Community Grants: 4th Round of Funding Available
Humber Learning Consortium are managing the ESF Community Grants Programme 2016-2018 and are pleased to announce the launch of the 4th round of funding available.The aim of the fund is to help unemployed people progress towards employment through access to learning and training opportunities delivered by not for profit organisations in the heart of predominantly disadvantaged communities. The Youth Social Action Grants Programme Now Open
The Youth Social Action Programme is now open to applications for grants from groups working with young people between the ages of 10 and 20 years old (or 25 for young people with learning disabilities) living in Greater Lincolnshire. The programme funds activities which encourage young people to learn new skills by taking part in social action and volunteering.
West Marsh Community Gym Opening
Last week West Marsh Community Centre celebrated the grand unveiling of their new community gym. The gym is open to people of all ages and is holding special sessions every Thursday from 5 pm -7 pm specifically for young people. Read on for full details.

VANEL are helping to celebrate this year’s Armed Forces Weekend by arming members of the public with a variety of blockage busting freebies and informative materials.
