Friends of Cleethorpes Heritage (FoCH) are appealing for information about the Beach Chalets located on Marine Embankment in Cleethorpes.
The appeal comes as part of a joint partnership between North East Lincolnshire Council, Friends of Cleethorpes Heritage and Voluntary Action North East Lincolnshire, to create an online ‘museum’ where people can learn about the long and colourful history of Cleethorpes as a tourist destination, Bygone Beachcombers.
If you can help shed any light on the history of the beach huts, who built them and when, please contact Friends of Cleethorpes Heritage. The same applies if anyone has any old photographs of the beach hut (or Cleethorpes generally). In addition to information and photographs (we don’t ask for much), FoCH are also interested in collecting Cleethorpes memorabilia and souvenirs for the project. If anyone has any memorabilia/souvenirs that they would like to donate/loan, please get in touch. The memorabilia will be placed in a locked display case located inside beach #9 situated on Marine Embankment in Cleethorpes. It will be acknowledged within the display as to what era the memorabilia is from and who has donated/loaned it.
