“Volunteering is someone spending time, unpaid, doing something that aims to benefit the environment or someone who they’re not closely related to. Volunteering must be a choice freely made by each individual.”
National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO)

The Volunteer Centre @ VANEL can help people get involved in volunteering so get in touch and find out how you can make a difference today.

Covid-19: Clearly at the moment, volunteering has taken on a totally different meaning. There’s now hundreds of thousands of people across the country volunteering to help their communities and relieve pressure on the NHS. At the same time, many traditional volunteering opportunities in our area have stopped and charities and organisations are working very differently. At the moment our Volunteer Centre is operating remotely and not placing volunteers into normal roles. We’re encouraging people to look out for supportive volunteering roles in their community and be patient for the more common volunteering opportunities to arise again. Please watch these pages for local updates.
