IGNITE is VANEL’s newest Big Lottery funded ‘Reaching Communities’ programme, which aims to help young people aged between 16 and 30 to become leaders within their communities by encouraging them to get involved and lead upon projects, events and campaigns which benefit their community. The three year programme follows on from VANEL’s previous ‘Reaching Communities’ programme, “Enfuse”.

VANEL is working in partnership with Anglian Water to promote their ‘Keep it Clear’ (KIC) campaign. KIC is designed to raise awareness of the things that should and shouldn’t be put down the drain or toilet – such as fats, oil, grease, wet wipes and sanitary products – and the reasons why. As Youth Partner our role is to promote funding opportunities from O2 for projects designed and run by young people If you are aged between 13 and 25-years-old and need money, training or support for a project that could help improve your community and are interested in applying for funding from O2 ‘ThinkBig’, talk to VANEL. VANEL is working in partnership with Active Humber to lead on promoting and supporting interested groups and organisations in putting together bids for submission to “Sportivate”. Sportivate is a National Lottery funded ‘Sport England’ programme and was created to continue the legacy left behind by the London 2012 Olympic Games. Sportivate provides funding for young people aged between 11 and 25-years-old in order to give them the opportunity to discover a sport that they love.

Community Health Champions (CHC) aims to increase awareness of the health and wellbeing interventions that are available locally, and encourage people to take steps to maintain or improve their level of health. The project has been designed in partnership with the Developing Healthier Communities team at NEL Council and is funded by NEL Lifestyle Services and The Morrisons Foundation.

Voluntary Action North East Lincolnshire (VANEL) has teamed up with North East Lincolnshire County Council, and Member organisation, Capacity Buildings Ltd, to transform a tired and disused old beach hut in Cleethorpes, into a place that can be enjoyed by the community, following a donation from the Tribune Trust.

MOVE is a three-year Big Lottery Fund/ESF funded ‘Building Better Opportunities’ project aiming to help those furthest away from employment to identify, address and overcome barriers to find paid work. It brings together a strong network of 24 local third sector organisations to build on existing employability services and provide a more consistent, accessible and joined up support.

Membership of Voluntary Action is open to all local charities and community organisations. In exchange for the work that we do to support our Members and Friends, we charge a small annual baseline fee of £25.

NELVS stands for North East Lincolnshire Volunteer Service.
This service from the Volunteer Centre allows staff to come and base themselves in the community to make it easier for organisations and their volunteers to come and speak to our staff.

VANEL issue a quarterly newsletter and weekly e-bulletin which we publish every Friday. The weekly e-bulletin is filled with news and information that is relevant to the sector, and useful to our Members and Friends. Members and Friends can send us their news and we can publish this for you in our bulletin at no extra cost.

Our trained staff can carry out DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks on behalf of organisations for either staff or volunteers.

The Supporting Volunteers Award has been developed by Voluntary Action North East Lincolnshire’s (VANEL) Volunteer Service in response to feedback from volunteers and volunteering involving organisations. The award works to ensure that volunteers and their host organisations have a voice, and demonstrates to volunteers that your volunteer organisation has taken steps to create a safe and enjoyable environment.

The North East Lincolnshire Compact is a statement of agreement between public sector and voluntary and community organisations working in North East Lincolnshire. It establishes rules for joint working so that organisations can work together more easily and effectively to respond to the needs of local people.
