Independent Forum: AGM
The Independent Forum are holding their AGM on Wednesday 7th June at the Carers Support Centre from 11:00 – 12:30.
HealthWatch AGM
HealthWatch are holding their fourth AGM on Friday 16th June 2017 at Grimsby’s Central Hall from 10am – 2pm. The event is open to members of the public and will include information stalls and question time with a panel of special guests. Free buffet!
Humber Youth Association: Round 3 Now Open
Round three of the Humber Youth Associations Grant Fund is now open. If you are aged 18 – 24 and/or have an idea for a project which helps to develop the physical, mental or spiritual capacity of young people aged 13 – 24, this grants programme may be for you. Groups and organisations can apply for up to £2,500, and individuals up to £500. Read on for full details and to download the booking form.
Next “Induction and Refresher Training for Trustees”
Our next “Induction and Refresher Training for Trustees” is on Tuesday 13th June 2017, 3pm-5pm at VANEL. Read on for full details of this two hour session and why any new trustees should attend or why it’s still useful as a refresher even for more experienced trustees.

Gary Allen Funding Surgery
Due to high demand, appointments slots to our upcoming funding surgery with Gary Allen on 6th June are now full up. We are now operating a waiting list system whereby interested groups can still be considered for an appointment should any of the groups booked on to the funding surgery drop out or for a second funding day that we are planning for July.. The waiting list will operate on a first-come-first-serve basis. Read on for full details.

HealthWatch Coffee Morning Event and Questionnaire
HealthWatch are holding a volunteer recruitment coffee morning on Thursday 1st June to coincide with the start of National Volunteers Week (1st – 7th June). Join them from 10 am – 12 noon at Enterprise Village, Prince Albert Gardens, Grimsby to find out more about volunteering and how you can get involved. The YMCA are recruiting an Outreach Worker to cover maternity leave within their Youth and Community team. Applicants must have a JNC recognised qualification in Youth Work (or equivalent) and experience of working with a diverse range of young people in an informal education setting. YMCA Humber is holding a summer disco on Friday 2nd June at JADE DanceFever in Cleethorpes from 6 – 8pm. Entry to the disco is £1.50 per person. Please share with the parent/guardians of children/young people who may be interested in attending.

VANEL’s IGNITE team facilitated a Parliamentary Outreach Workshop at Grimsby University Centre last week to encourage young people to register to vote in light of next month’s General Election.
Lachlan’s Fun Day
We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed to Lachlan’s fundraising Fun Day which took place last Friday at Grimsby Rugby Club. Despite the bad weather, the event was a success, raising just under £100 for Lachlan’s three chosen charities. We hope to increase this total by continuing our fundraising at VANEL’s World Oceans Day event next week. Read on for full details.
