See Santa in his grotto at West Marsh Community Centre’s Christmas Fayre which takes place on Friday 9th December from 4 until 8. Entry is free but a charge of £2.00 if you wish to see Santa and receive a gift. Santa’s Sleigh will also be here and you can have a photo taken for a small donation.
16 Days of Action Against Domestic Violence is aimed at businesses that lack an infrastructure to deal with the large-scale problem that is domestic violence. As it stands, companies can do more to aid their employees who endure domestic violence, train those who witness it, and to protect staff as a whole, with the goal of securing safety and mitigating financial loss. Whilst 16 Days of Action may now be coming to a close, it is important that message of the campaign continues to be at the forefront of employers and businesses minds.
VANEL’s IGNITE team will be at Cleethorpes Winter Wonderland promoting Anglian Water’s Keep It Clear Campaign. The four day event which starts on Thursday 8th December, will include Christmas Markets, fairground attractions and the chance to meet the one and only Santa Clause. Read on for full details.

A charity five-aside Tournament is taking place next week at the Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education on Thursday 8th December from 9am until 1pm in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. Competing in the tournament will be some of the VANEL and IGNITE team. Show your support for our staff and the Teenage Cancer Trust by joining us on the day and making a donation to this worthy cause. The event has been organised as part of IGNITE by Grimsby College student and project leader Isireli Stevens. If you would like to get involved and play as part of the tournament, there’s still time! A young mother from Grimsby who delivered a sleeping baby is organising a fundraising helium balloon release to raise money for the Laurel Ward at Grimsby’s Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, to buy Memory Boxes for bereaved parents. The mass balloon release ‘Sky High’, will take place at the Linden Homes Club, Grimsby, on Wednesday 7th December 2016 from 6pm until 9pm. The event is open to everyone and will give families the opportunity to commemorate a child who has been lost during pregnancy or after birth. She has an online target of £250, enough to buy 8 Memory Boxes, let’s help her surpass this target!
