World Toilet Day This Saturday!

VANEL, in partnership with Anglian Water, will be holding a World Toilet Day (WTD) event on Saturday 19th November 2016 at People’s Park. The event aims to increase awareness of the global sanitation crisis affecting 2.4 billion people worldwide, and will serve as the launchpad of the O2 funded IGNITE project “Explorabubble”. We will have a bubble machine, giant bubble wands and bubble-themed crafts and activities which the whole family can get involved with. If you like bubbles, this is the event for you! Cleethorpes Winter Wonderland 2016

Winter Wonderland is returning to Cleethorpes Meridian Showground for four days this December and promises to be even more magical than last year. Macmillan Coffee Morning

VANEL’s IGNITE team are pleased to have received a certificate from Macmillan Cancer Support recognising the huge effort that was made by the whole community at our coffee morning event back in September. In just over 3 hours the coffee morning raised £288.27! Read on to view the certificate and find out more about the event.

Thinkspiration Workshop: November 29th 2016

Don’t forget about the Thinkspiration Workshop taking place on Tuesday 29th November 2016 from 1pm until 3pm at the YMCA, Grimsby. Alex from O2 Think Big and Heather from the National Youth Agency will be hosting the event and speaking to young people aged 17 to 25 to discuss ideas for projects which help to improve the environment. Thinkspiration Workshop

The National Youth Agency (NYA) in partnership with O2 Think Big is launching an exciting programme aimed at young people aged between 17 and 25-years-old in the UK. The Environment Now (TEN) will fund young people up to £10,000 to use digital technology to find innovative solutions to pressing environmental issues. On Tuesday 29th November 2016, Alex from O2 Think Big and Heather from NYA will be heading to Grimsby’s YMCA from 1pm until 3pm to hold a Thinkspiration workshop with young people to discuss/help you come up with an idea. Come along to VANEL’s Coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday 30th September 2016 at Tukes’ Cafe in People’s Park from 11:00am until 2:00pm. We shall be holding a cake stall and cake competition. We are looking for people to create beautiul cakes for our three competition categories, Best Sponge, Best Tray Bake and Best Muffin or Cupcake.
