IGNITE Beach Sports event was fun for all down on Cleethorpes Beach
FREE fun down on the beach was the order of the day in Cleethorpes, when a group of young pepole organised sports sessions for all.
Members of our IGNITE team, our youth volunteering programme, put together the Cleethorpes Sports Day – which offered free activities for all the family.
VANEL’s Youth Leadership Manager, Jenny Hodson, is a former British and Grimsby Hockey Club player, now playing for Kingston Upon Hull and North Region. She was delighted to be playing her sport on the beach!
“It is a really good thing to do, you can see we have so many activities for everyone and children and adults are enjoying it,” said Jenny.
Youth Leadership Worker Victoria Russell, assistant coach at Grimsby’s Snaprats Community Basketball Club, added: “What a brilliant way to spend a lovely day in Cleethorpes and hopefully it will encourage more young people to enjoy sport.”
IGNITE, based at our offices in Bargate, Grimsby, offers young people support and help to volunteer within their communities – from organising Battle of the Bands, to leading playgroups and environmental projects.

Well done to Nicole and Jean-Louis in IGNITE for putting together a great event for all involved.
