Realise Your Potential With YMCA
YMCA Humber’s Realise You Potential Programmes is designed to support people aged 19 and over, and increase their self-esteem and confidence. The YMCA are running three of these courses between now and the end of June.
The course is part of Dept of Education National Research project to see whether short community learning courses can have an impact on low level mental health issues such as being anxious, worrying, lack of sleep, low mood, stress, lack of confidence or self-esteem. The course is not designed for people who have severe ingrained mental health issues, or are addicted to non-prescribed drugs or suffer from addiction to alcohol.
The course is over six weekly three hour workshops. The first course is scheduled to take place starting Tuesday 14th March at Community Learning Services Building, Highgate, Cleethorpes between 9.30am and 12.30. The two other courses will be held in different geographic locations in NEL.
Any person wishing to take part will need to be assessed pre-course to ensure they fall within the course parameters and do not have a more serious mental health problem.
