Lincolnshire Volunteer Card
We have more opportunities coming up over the coming months for volunteers to take up training for the Lincolnshire Volunteer Card (LVC).
The training covers 6 modules and is either covered in 6 sessions, 3 sessions or over 2 days (all subject to attendees and suitable arrangements).
The 6 modules cover:
- Good practice standards in volunteering
- Health and Safety, including personal safety
- Safeguarding and confidentiality
- Customer Care
- Equality and Diversity
- Live Well
This is a fun, interactive course that gives you all the basics ready to start your volunteering journey. Hundreds of volunteers across Lincolnshire have already achieved their Lincolnshire Volunteer Card.
What do you get when you’ve completed the course?
- A ‘credit card’ style ‘Lincolnshire Volunteer Card
- A certificate that outlines the modules you have achieved
- A volunteering CV which you can continue to develop.
Attending the training is free to volunteers, but the volunteer must have the costs of their place covered by their hosting organisation, one of our funding schemes or a bursary. If, as a volunteer, you are interested, you should contact VANEL, but also have a conversation with the organisation that hosts you to get them to talk to us about the costs of the course.
If you are an organisation which hosts volunteers, then you should think about funding places on these courses for your volunteers. It gets them ready and trained for the volunteer experience with you and can act as your induction.
Contact us via the office on 01472 231123 (ask for Jenny or Karl) or email lvc@vanel.org.uk.
Young Leaders and LVC
At present we have Big Lottery funding through our “Young Leaders” project which will subsidies LVC places for certain volunteers.
They must be in a volunteering role within North East Lincolnshire.
They must be aged between 18 and 25.
The role must be of a leadership nature (sitting on a board/committee/steering group or leading others in a defined project or activity).
If you are a ‘young leader’ or you have volunteers who qualify, then please contact us at VANEL as above or via Karl Elliott directly (karl@vanel.org.uk).
