Do you love to bake? Are you looking for an excuse to show off your creative skills for a fantastic cause? Maybe you like nothing more than to socialise with your friends and family over a cup of coffee and a slice of cake. Whichever one it is, why not join VANEL for ‘The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The event takes place on Friday the 30th September 2016 at Tukes’ Café in People’s Park, from 11:00am until 2:00pm.
The coffee morning will be an excellent opportunity for friends and families to come together, have a chat, enjoy a slice (or two) of cake, and remember loved ones who have fought or who are bravely fighting cancer. The event will have a ‘vintage’ theme and all crockery is being kindly lent to us by Penny Smith, owner of ‘Penny’s from Heaven’.
To make our coffee morning as successful as it can be and raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support, we need your help!
If you think that you can make a Victoria Sponge to rival Mr Kipling or a Salted Caramel Cheesecake that puts all others to shame, why not enter our cake competitions? There are three categories that you can enter, they are: Best Sponge, Best Tray Bake and Best Cupcake or Muffin. The winners in each category will receive a prize. All cakes entered into the competition will be sold either in their entirety or as slices that are perfect for washing down with a cup of tea or coffee. Don’t forget, we also need cakes, scones and muffins that have been created with tender loving care for our cake stall! Why not put your baking skills to the test and help us to help Macmillan to make sure that no one has to face cancer alone.
We are asking for a donation of £2 per person to enter one or all of the cake competitions.
All proceeds will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.
If you are interested in taking part in our cake competitions, as we hope you are, if you could let us know beforehand we would very much appreciate it.
