Friendship at Home are looking for volunteers to help make a difference to the lives of the older people that they support. The organisation works to help combat isolation and loneliness across North East Lincolnshire and to improve the quality of life of older people. Voluntary Action North Lincolnshire are looking to appoint two Family Support Coordinators to develop a deliver a volunteer family support package for families living with substance misuse issues and problems. Applicants must have a degree in Social work or alternative relevant subject, or significant experience in a similar role, at a similar level. On Friday 16th September 2016 VANEL employee’s Victoria and Helen braved the elements with 17 other volunteers to help clean-up Cleethorpes Beach as part of the Marine Conservation Society’s annual ‘Beach Watch’ event. The event lasted for just over an hour and half, during which time the team collected 60kg of litter and 9kg of dog poo! Read on to find out more!

Do you need help brushing up your Maths and English Skills? Why not book your free place on one or both of CERT’s 8 week level 1 and 2 Functioning Skills Courses. CERT’s Maths skills classes take place every Wednesday (Starting 2nd November) and English classes every Tuesday (starting 1st November). Both functioning skills classes take place from 9:30am until 4:30pm at The Hub, Freeman Street Market, DN32 7DS.

Climb 4 hold a range of dance classes for children and tots aged between 2 and 4, 5 and 11 and 12 and 16 every Saturday. They also run a Holiday Club which runs from Monday to Wednesday of each school holiday. The next holiday club takes place in October and has a Halloween theme.
