Volunteers wanted to help with historical research

Are you interested in doing historical research? Are you interested in the history of Policing (perhaps if you’ve got a personal or family connection to the Police)? Are you interested in the history of Cleethorpes? Do you have some time to spare and to volunteer to help our project?

VANEL’s Cleethorpes Community Cops project needs your help.

We’re researching the history of policing, crime and disorder and punishments in Cleethorpes. We’re going way back before there was actually a Police force and we’re coming more up to date by researching the history of the Police buildings themselves in Cleethorpes.

We’ve got volunteers doing our research and collecting everything together, but if you’d like to get involved then we’d love to hear from you. Even if you don’t think you’ve got the expertise, please come forward and we’ll look at providing you with support and training too.

The project will run through until April 2019 and we need to get all our research done over the coming months.

So if this sounds of interest then please get in touch with Steve Lynn or Karl Elliott at VANEL to have a chat (01472 231123).

The project itself is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and is managed by VANEL through our Blue Lights Brigade volunteer programme. More information about the project here.
