Feedback from the recent Volunteer Managers Network meeting and welcome onboard to a new Volunteer Development Service member
Thank you very much to St Andrews’ Hospice who provided the venue for the March meeting of the Volunteer Managers Network (VMN).
There were plenty of people attending with plenty of discussion around a wide range of topics.
Jacky and Liz from VANEL were hosting the session as always. There was a briefing on GDPR from Karl at VANEL then an update on the Blue Lights Brigade programme from Steve Lynn. Discussions were held about early preparations for Volunteers’ Week in June and the V:Expo event that will be taking place in Grimsby at around the same time. Updates about the ongoing and expanding Volunteer Development Service (VDS) were shared and then an open discussion gave every attendee the opportunity to detail their own organisation and the work they are doing with volunteers and to discuss ways to support each other.
As always a valuable meetup for all involved.
There was also a chance to handover a certificate to Sylvia Leary of Hope Specialist Services as they are now the very latest group to join up with the Volunteer Development Service.

The next meeting of the Volunteer Managers Network will be on 9th May 2018. If you’re not already receiving updates and news about VDS you can find out more here and you can discuss membership with Liz at VANEL via 01472 231123 or liz@vanel.org.uk.
