Welcome onboard to new VANEL staff members
VANEL would like to welcome onboard four of its newest members to the team, Victoria Russell, Lisa Anderson, Helen Pickett and Chris Luckman.
Victoria and Lisa are joining us as part of the organisation’s latest Reaching Communities Programme, Enfuse 2: “Helping Young People to help each other to lead their Communities,” as Youth Leadership Workers. Victoria, who last month graduated from the University of Hull with a BA (hons) in Criminology and Sociology, joined the VANEL team earlier this week and has already begun to develop new ideas for the project. Lisa, a fellow Hull Graduate with a PGCE in Psychology, will be formally joining us later in the month. Together, they will be working alongside Youth Leadership Manager Jenny Hodson and playing an active part in the recruitment of four Youth Leadership Mentors. As a team they will be working to support, motivate and inspire young people to volunteer and become leaders within their community.
Also joining the VANEL team is our new Communication Assistant, Helen Pickett. Helen, who has a BA (hons) in English and Journalism from the University of Lincoln, joins us after spending the past 11 months travelling around Australia and parts of Asia. She will be working closely with Jenny, Victoria and Lisa to develop and promote both “Enfuse 2” and communications and projects in general across the whole of VANEL.
And last but not least, we would like to welcome our new Community Development Worker Intern, Chris Luckman. Chris, who recently completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Lincoln, joined us on a three month sponsorship from the university in mid-July. He will be working closely with Development Manager Karl Elliott, implementing and promoting the upcoming Healthwin Project, promoting our Sportivate project and working on our Young Leaders programme. Welcome Chris.
We would like to give our thanks to our former Community Development Worker Intern, Jasmine Dudhill. Jasmine worked with us for a period of two months and offered invaluable support to Development Manager Karl Elliot and Youth Leadership Manager Jenny Hodson. Jasmine is leaving us earlier than planned due to her success in finding a full-time job elsewhere! She will be missed by all the team here at VANEL we wish her the best of luck in her new role working with Victim Support in Lincoln.
