Grimsby Community Energy Share Offer Now Live
Grimsby Community Energy is an exciting community-based initiative which aims to generate electricity from solar panels based on community and social enterprise owned buildings in Grimsby. The organisation is looking for new members to invest in their Share Offer which is now live.
Anyone can become a Member but priority membership will be given to residents, charities, and businesses around Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Immingham. The project aims to raise enough funds to install a small solar power system on up to six different buildings, saving an estimated 840 tonnes of CO2 over its lifetime. They are also looking at the potential to use some of the project’s income to support community buildings with energy efficiency measures. In order to install all six solar power systems, the project needs to raise £148,000 and has a minimum target of £85,000. To make this possible, Grimsby Community Energy is inviting you to become a Member of the society and subscribe to this Share Offer. You can invest between £500 and £20,000 for a period of three to twenty years with the potential to receive a fair return on your investment projected at 3.8-4.3%.
The project developers cannot offer financial advice, and you should check with your financial advisor whether this offer is a suitable investment for you. This Share Offer is not covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service or the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. The closing date for applications is Friday 9th September 2016 at noon.
