Children’s Centre Consultation
As part of a money-saving drive, North East Lincolnshire Council is planning to “de-designate” five of its ten Children’s Centres, creating “five family hub clusters” spreading the services offered and staff between them.
In each cluster will have an Ofsted designated centre – which will keep detailed records of the services and activities offered within the cluster and be the focus of Ofsted inspections of each cluster’s performance. Under the plans no centres will actually close, Each cluster will also contain one or more de-designated centres, with staff from all sites within the cluster working across the whole of that area and services provided at the most appropriate venue.
It is also hoped to extend the services on offer to young people up to the age of 19, rather than 0 to five as is currently the case.
We are seeking the views of local parents by asking them to complete survey forms, attend focus groups or attend one of the local public meetings.
