VANEL has received Heritage Lottery funding to explore ideas around creating a green route through Cleethorpes. VANEL will work with Cleethorpes residents to research the existing natural heritage in public parks and gardens; other green spaces; alleyways and along the seafront, in order to explore the feasibility of connecting them together using green ‘corridor’ mapping to create a green route. Cleethorpes Community Cops was at Cleethorpes Police Station as it closes and the local policing team moves to the Knoll
Over the past year, VANEL has been leading a project to research and archive the history of policing in Cleethorpes. The project has now come to an end and this week the results of this “Cleethorpes Community Cops” project were on display at Cleethorpes Police Station at a bitter-sweet event organised by the Police to mark the final closure of the Police Station after nearly 90 years of service. The Cleethorpes Regeneration Programme recently funded by the Coastal Communities Fund will be getting underway soon. £6.7m will be invested in Cleethorpes over the next three years.
