VANEL’s Community Health Champions programme will be visiting a number of locations across North East Lincolnshire over the coming months. The programme aims to encourage and motivate people to look after their health, and signpost them to the relevant health and wellbeing agencies and organisations that can support them locally.

VANEL will be holding a Heritage Lottery Funding Surgery with Heritage Lottery Development Officer Helen Peacock on Tuesday 25th October 2016 from 10am until 4pm at the VANEL office in Grimsby. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with Friendship at Home (FaH) and would like more information, why not come along to their Volunteer Open day on Thursday 20th October 2016. The event will take place between 11:am and 1:00pm at Friendship at Home c/o Parish Office, Aidan’s Community Church , Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes DN35 7RQ. Lunch will be provided. The event will provide prospective volunteers with the opportunity to find out more about the work FaH does, the volunteering opportunities available, and give you the chance to speak to some of their current volunteers.
The Morrisons Foundation has awarded VANEL’s Community Health Champions (CHC) project £6,250. The funding will be used to promote health and wellbeing messages to people of all ages and backgrounds across North East Lincolnshire. The project is recruiting Community Health Champion volunteers.
