A New Era for Stroke
We launched our latest campaign, A New Era for Stroke, last week and had some brilliant coverage with the Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, The Times, The Independent, Daily Telegraph and The Sun topping the list.
The National Stroke Strategy for England comes to an end in 2017 and the Government told MPs they have no plans to create a new one. This will jeopardise stroke survivors’ recoveries and could put lives at risk. Our campaign calls on the Government to commit to a new National Stroke Strategy.
No one plans for a stroke, but the Government can, and should, ensure that the right care and support is there when people need it most. One survivor told us: “The difference between getting and not getting the support you need after a stroke is the difference between living and existing.” This is not acceptable.
Without a National Stroke Strategy, all the advances we’ve seen over the last ten years could be lost. Things like specialised stroke units, new treatments but also the support that people need to make their recoveries. We can’t let this happen. We need 100,000 signatures – but we can’t do it alone. You have been such an avid supporter of the charity, and I wanted to ask your help, if you don’t mind by:
- by signing this petition:
- asking your friends, colleagues, acquaintances and clients to help us by also adding their signatures
- sharing it on your social media platforms and with anyone you come across.
