Winter Planning 2015/2016 Launch
We’re now sitting comfortably in autumn and winter is fast approaching, the trees have dropped their orange coats and we’re left slipping about on patches of leafy-mush as a consequence. Melancholic or just a bit annoying? I don’t know, a bit of both maybe.
Either way – the seasonal shift brings with it a possibility of harsh and debilitating weather conditions; icy roads, frozen cars and over-snowed front-gardens can all become commonplace. Unfortunately, not all of us are fit and able to deal them.
This is the motive that drives Winter Planning as a community development project – helping those who are prone to struggle during extreme weather conditions. Hospitals and housing associations come under increased stress due to elderly people being handicapped by the weather, it is clear that this is an issue deserving of attention and care.
We’re always looking for volunteers – it’s very simple and efficient, you simply sign up and we’ll contact you when/if someone contacts the emergency line for help. Help may involve collecting and delivering household essentials or helping them shovel some snow!
Be sure to forward our contact details to those who may find themselves in need and those who would like to put themselves forward as a volunteer.
Thank you to the projects current volunteers and partners, best wishes!
