VANEL is looking for a young person ideally aged 20 to 30 years old with some community development experience to support the delivery of a Reaching Communities programme: “Helping Young People to help each other to lead their Communities”. This is a programme to inspire, support and motivate young people both to volunteer and to get involved in paid community development work to become leaders in local communities.
The post holder will champion youth-led volunteering, by co-ordinating the provision of high quality advice and guidance for younger volunteers and their host organisations and inspiring young people aged 18 to 30 to participate in a wide range of volunteering opportunities across the North East Lincolnshire area.
Some specific knowledge and practical experience of community development is necessary although you will be supported to develop these skills further in the job role. You will need to be customer-focused with good communication skills and be able to demonstrate your ability to network with other people of all ages.
You will support the project leader to develop a team of four part-time Youth Leadership Mentors to be able to support, enable and advise young volunteers in developing community based activities.
There will be a requirement to work in normal office conditions as well as both inside and outside buildings in the community depending on the activity being delivered and the ability to work flexible hours is essential as evening and weekend work may be required.
