Mental Health Level 1 Half Day Workshop
Did you know that as many as one in four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. That’s one quarter of the population. Take a look around, because the chances are that someone you know or care for is fighting a battle that you know little or nothing about.
Mental health affects all of us, and mental health conditions can take many shapes and forms. It is important to remember that whilst there are measures that can be made to reduce a person’s likelihood of developing a mental condition/problem, anyone can develop a mental heath condition at any stage during their life.
If you are young person and would like to learn more about mental health, you may be interested to know that the Independent forum are offering free places on a half day Level 1 Mental Health training course.
Level 1 is “designed” to give participants a general insight into mental health vs mental ill health by sharing information and statistics around prevalence, causation, support and the opportunity to participate in group work.
Click here to view the timetable and material that will be covered during the Level 1 half day workshop.
For those who wish to expand their knowledge further, they can go on to participate in the Level 2 Advanced two day course. Level 2 goes into greater detail around mental health problems, major mental illnesses, diagnosis, prognosis, signs & symptoms, treatments, again groupwork with constant refreshers and question time.
We are hoping to arrange a Level 1 workshop at the VANEL office in the near future. If you would like to participate in such a workshop please contact IGNITE Youth Leadership Manager Jenny Hodson.
