Hello from the Volunteer Centre!
This week we have a new opportunity and some small updates to keep you all in the loop.
Credit Union – Customer Service Role
Credit Union would like to invite volunteers to help them deliver their front line Credit Union services at the Municipal Offices, Grimsby. The Credit Union is in the process of expanding its services and you could be part of this exciting development. You will be required to perform cashiers functions including deposits and withdrawals from member accounts, assisting with queries from members and helping to complete membership forms and loan applications.
VBase
For many years now, we have been keeping track of our volunteers/opportunities by using a database called Vbase, this has always been software installed onto a computer. Now however, this software is being retired and replaced by a new cloud based system incorporated into the do-it.org website. All of our information has to be transferred manually and this is an extremely lengthy process as we strive for accuracy and consistency. The benefits of having the new system is that we are not committed to a certain building in order to update the database, and it gets rid of the necessity of backing up the system. The only disadvantage is that it requires an internet connection to work. The new cloud based system goes live to the public on the 25th November.
