A –

Activities – English, maths, science and art activities for key stage 2 are available in the beach hut

Availability – The beach hut is available between the hours of 9.30am – 3.30pm, Monday to Friday all year round.

Beach safety – To contact please call  (01472) 323 356.
The team operate from the First Aid Station located on the Central Promenade.

Boating Lake – One of Cleethorpes’ many points of interest.

Bowling – Fancy a game? Why not visit Cleethorpes Ten Pin Bowl, opposite the Boating Lake on King’s Road

Bucket and spade – Walk to the beach and create your masterpiece!

Café – There is a locally run café a very short walk away selling refreshments

Cancellations – We ask that you give 48 hours notice if you need to cancel your booking

Capacity – The beach hut seats up to 8 people inside and an additional 8 on the veranda

Cleaning – Please leave the beach hut in a clean and tidy condition, ready for the next visitors

Cleethorpes Leisure Centre – Too cold for a paddle? Go for a swim here instead. Don’t forget your towel!

Cleethorpes Parkway Cinema – As your day by the seaside comes to a close, why not head over to Parkway Cinema to watch a film

Community Use – The beach hut is a great place to build and foster a sense of community spirit


D –

Discovery centreOne of the locally available attractions

Dogs –  Dogs are not allowed on the main resort beaches between the North Promenade Slipway opposite Wonderland Market and the Cleethorpes Leisure Centre from Good Friday through until 30th September inclusive in any year.

Donkey Rides – One of the many seasonal activities available

Domestic Abuse – why not use the Punch & Judy set to start a discussion about Domestic Abuse (there’s a prompt sheet to help you on your way – it also gives you a little history lesson)!

E –

Electricity – There is no electricity available at the beach hut

Environment Agency – Check the quality of bathing water and updates on pollution

Emergency  – In the event of an emergency requiring the presence of the ambulance, police or fire service, call 999. Beach Hut #9 is situated at Marine Embankment, Cleethorpes. You will need to provide this information so please take note.

Fish and chips – Why not visit one of the many fish and chip restaurants situated near the sea front?!

Forts – See if you can spot Haile Sand Fort and Bull Sand Fort in the sea

Food – There is a café and very short walk away, or you can visit the café at the Discovery Centre or a number of fast food outlets are available at Meridian Parkway

Free – The beach hut is free for community use


G –

Games – If eye spy isn’t your thing, perhaps you’ll enjoy a game of badminton, volleyball or cricket

Grass – There is a large grass playing area that is available for all to enjoy

Greenwich Meridian Line – One of the local points of interest


H –

Heating – Hopefully the sun will shine and keep you warm as there is no heating available at the beach hut, remember to wrap up warm, especially during the winter months

History – Local history about the immediate and surrounding areas is available to read within the hut


I –

Ice cream – Available from the local café

Information –  Look in the folders inside the beach hut for more information


J –

Jolly Roger – Watch out for pirates!

What kind of fish does well with ice-cream? Jellyfish!


K –

Keys – To book the beach hut please contact VANEL to book on (01472) 231 123, keys are available to collect the previous day from 12 midday and need to be returned by 12 midday the day after the booking.

Kite – On a windy day, bring a kite!


L –

Learning – Learn about pirates, Cleethorpes heritage and the environment

Lighthouse – Can you spot Spurn Point Lighthouse in the distance?

Litter – Please take your rubbish home with you

Local information is provided in a box file

Lost keys will incur a £50 replacement fee – please look after them


M –

Marine Embankment is the address of Beach Hut #9. Take note of this in case of an emergency.

Marshes – Salt marshes are managed by natural England as a site of Scientific Interest

Memories – Take only memories and leave only footprints

Mobile Phone – Remember to take a mobile phone with you incase of an emergency

Notices are placed within the beach hut for your safety

Opening times – The Beach Hut is open Monday to Friday all year round

Ornithology – The beach hut provides the perfect location for bird watching

Parking – There is ample free parking available nearby

Picnic – When the weather’s nice, don’t forget to bring a picnic!

Pier – If you haven’t already, why not visit our Victorian Pier?
