There were two key themes at this session:
“Platform proliferation” – we looked at the numerous platforms which visitors to a website can now use & the issues this brings to a web developer to allow those visits. Different browsers, PC’s with Win 8,7 or XP, Mac or PC, tablets, android, iOS, mobile phones etc etc. We looked at the specific issues arising from public bodies sticking to Windows XP and IE8 which affects how some websites look and feel.
Moving on from this we looked at Responsive design, what it means, and some of the easier ways to tackle it within WordPress websites.
Resources and information from this session
Our discussions were around understanding what visitors to our websites are using to visit. This site is excellent for keeping you up to date on what's being used around the world.
A very useful plugin - ideally for monitoring who is logging into your system and writing what. But can also be used to see if there are hacking attacks taking place on your website.
